PROTECT YOURSELF FROM FRAUD

March 5, 2021

Scammers have been calling and texting ORNL FCU members pretending to be Credit Union employees. They ask for personal information to gain access to personal accounts.

REMEMBER: Never give any part of your Social Security Number, Online/Mobile Banking username or password, any verification code, or debit/credit card details (including expiration date and security code) to a caller. We will never call you to request this information. We will never ask you to purchase a Green Dot or other prepaid gift card to secure your account or make a payment.

NOT SURE IF THE CALL IS FROM THE CREDIT UNION? Hang up the phone. Call the number on the back of your debit/credit card or call us directly before sharing personal information. Obtain the call back phone number from an independent source like our website,  ornlfcu.com, NOT from the caller or your caller ID.
